Would you like to contribute to developing and evolving some of the world’s biggest wind turbines, new concepts, and worldwide expansion and operation of wind energy?

Goldwind is a global leader in wind power, both onshore and offshore, with a growing backlog, both domestically and internationally, and significant investments in R&D. They are committed to promoting energy transformation to attain access to affordable, reliable, and sustainable energy for all and to drive a renewable future.

Specializing in wind power, Goldwind leverage strong scientific research innovation and best business practices to take renewable energy utilization efficiency to new heights.

Working within Control and Loads in Goldwind Denmark, you will join an international team of very qualified engineers and work very closely with other disciplines such as control, aerodynamics, etc., providing you with a broad view of technical aspects around wind turbine design.

As their new Senior Loads Engineer, you will be an integral part of our dynamic and highly qualified international team. You will work closely with experts in control, aerodynamics, and other areas to contribute to the design and development of some of the world's largest wind turbines, new concepts, and the global expansion of wind energy.

Your tasks and primary responsibilities will be as such:

  • Conduct product-level design studies, including loads, aeroelastic stability, power curves, and noise assessments for wind turbine development.
  • Provide optimised and customised engineering solutions to the commercial projects in collaborations with colleagues from Controls and Wind&Site, etc.
  • Identify design-driving load cases, propose ideas to enhance energy production, and reduce loads.
  • Develop and formulate the Design Load Basis (DLB) in collaboration with Probabilistic Design and Wind & Site.
  • Validate aeroelastic models of wind turbines and handle field issues, providing root cause analysis and problem-solving for operational turbines.
  • Participate in the verification and validation of loads in real wind turbines and maintain dialogue for acceptance by certifying bodies (DNV, UL, TUV, CGC, etc.).
  • Collaborate with a diverse group of engineers in a global organization and act as a liaison with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

We expect you to have an MSc or PhD in Mechanical/Aerospace/Civil Engineering or equivalent.

Additionally, we envision that you have:

  • 3+ years of experience in the wind turbine design industry.
  • Experience in dynamic and aeroelastic modeling and simulation using tools like Bladed, Flex5, HAWC2
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as MATLAB and Python
  • Solid knowledge of dynamic simulations of structural or mechanical systems
  • Result-oriented with a strong focus on tasks and the ability to meet deadlines with the right quality

It is also advantageous if you have:

  • Experience in wind turbine certification and/or project-level site-specific design assessment (SSDA)
  • Experience in project management, meeting milestones, and deadlines
  • Knowledge of wind turbine control strategies
  • Knowledge of strength calculations

Information

We prefer that you can be part of the headquarters in Aarhus, but this is not a requirement. It is expected that there will be approximately 10-15 days of travel per year.
